HUDSON RIVER TRADING EXPANDS AT 3 WORLD TRADE CENTER
Pioneering fintech firm will occupy over 200,000 square feet across six floors
NEW YORK, December 14, 2021 – Silverstein Properties, one of New York City’s leading real estate development and management companies, today announced that Hudson River Trading (HRT), a pioneer in the fintech industry, signed a 75,207 square-foot office expansion for the 72nd and 73rd floors of 3 World Trade Center. HRT currently occupies 136,000 square-feet on four floors in the building, including the highest private outdoor terrace in New York City on the 76th floor.
HRT was founded in 2002 by a small group of software developers and mathematicians determined to bring a scientific approach to trading stocks. HRT currently develops automated trading algorithms using advanced mathematical and statistical modeling techniques in an extremely high-performance computing environment. With offices around the world, HRT trades equities, futures, options, currencies and fixed income on over 100 markets worldwide.
The company was previously located on two upper floors next door at 4 World Trade Center, before moving to larger space at 3 WTC in 2019.
“For the second time in five years, Hudson River Trading has expanded their footprint at the World Trade Center,” said Jeremy Moss, EVP of Leasing at Silverstein Properties. “From their headquarters first at 4 WTC, and now at 3 WTC, HRT has attracted the best minds in mathematics, coding and technology. We are excited to support HRT’s business with an environment that attracts and retains their top talent.”
3 World Trade Center, New York City’s fifth-tallest tower, is home to a number of leading companies including GroupM, Uber, Diageo, Casper, IEX, Blue Wolf Capital, Hana and Better.com. The building provides tenants with the flexibility to continue to expand and thrive in the bustling hub of Downtown Manhattan.
Across Silverstein Properties’ portfolio, companies and their employees now have access to a new hospitality program, INSPIRE, that offers premier hotel-quality services and amenities, as well as access to neighborhood perks, daily fitness classes and monthly social events through an on-site concierge. These services are all accessible via a dedicated app.
Jeremy Moss, Director of World Trade Center Leasing for Silverstein Properties, led the negotiations for the landlord, together with the CBRE agency team including Mary Ann Tighe, Ken Meyerson, Evan Haskell, Adam Foster, Steve Eynon, Rob Hill and Caroline Merck. Hudson River Trading was represented by Sacha Zarba, Jeff Fischer and Chris Corrinet of CBRE.
