Larry A. SilversteinChairman
Larry A. Silverstein is the Chairman of Silverstein Properties, Inc., a Manhattan-based real estate development and investment firm that has developed, owned and managed 40 million square feet of office, residential, hotel and retail space. The firm currently has $10 billion worth of development activity underway and has been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in New York City” by Crain’s New York Business for eight years in a row.
In July 2001, Mr. Silverstein completed the largest real estate transaction in New York history when he signed a 99-year lease on the 10.6 million square feet World Trade Center for $3.25 billion, only to see it destroyed in terrorist attacks six weeks later on September 11, 2001. He has spent the last 17 years rebuilding the office component of the World Trade Center site, a $30 billion project that will consume the balance of his working life.
In May 2006, Silverstein Properties opened 7 World Trade Center, the first office tower to be rebuilt at the site, and the first LEED-certified office building in New York City. The 52-story, 1.7 million square foot office tower is fully leased to an eclectic group of tenants. In November 2013, the company opened 4 World Trade Center, a 72-story 2.3 million square foot building designed by Fumihiko Maki. In June 2018, the company opened 3 World Trade Center, an 80-story, 2.5 million square foot building designed by Richard Rogers. The company is developing one other office tower on the WTC site – 2 World Trade Center (designed by Bjarke Ingels).
Silverstein Properties recently completed and opened a Four Seasons hotel and private residences designed by Robert A. M. Stern in Lower Manhattan which, at 82-stories, is one of the tallest residential towers in New York. The company recently completed and opened the largest Four Seasons resort in the world at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Silverstein owns and manages many successful and high-profile commercial and residential properties in New York City, including 120 Broadway, 120 Wall Street, 529 Fifth Avenue and 1177 Avenue of the Americas. Mr. Silverstein recently completed and opened Silver Towers, two 60-story residential towers at 600 West 42nd Street, the companion to 1River Place, a 40-story, 921-unit tower which opened in 2000. The square block development houses over 2,200 families.
Mr. Silverstein is a member of the New York Bar and a Governor of the Real Estate Board of New York, having served as its Chairman. He has served as Chairman of the Realty Foundation of New York.
A 1952 graduate of New York University, Mr. Silverstein served as Vice Chairman of the NYU Board of Trustees, where he continues to serve as member of the Board of Trustees of the New York University Langone Medical Center. He is the Founder and Chairman emeritus of the advisory board of the NYU Real Estate Institute. As a Professor of Real Estate, his “Silverstein Workshop” became one of the most attended and informative educational sources for learning real estate development and investment analysis.
Mr. Silverstein donates his time and resources to support many philanthropic endeavors. He has served as Chairman of the Board of UJA-Federation. He is a founding trustee of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York and has served as treasurer of National Jewish Health in Denver.
Mr. Silverstein contributes his time and resources to organizations that are dedicated to higher education and medical research, meeting humanitarian needs and supporting the arts. Mr. Silverstein currently serves as a board member of the New York Philharmonic. He is a classical music enthusiast, a passionate yachtsman and a dedicated New Yorker. Larry and Klara Silverstein have been married for 62 years and have three children and one son-in-law, three of whom are executives at Silverstein Properties, and they also have eight grandchildren.
Mickey KuppermanVice Chairman, Chief Operating Officer
Mickey Kupperman is Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Silverstein Properties, Inc. He is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company as well as developing a corporate strategy for the future. He still maintains his previous responsibilities as Director of Design for Towers 2, 3 and 4 at the World Trade Center.
Prior to joining Silverstein, Mr. Kupperman was with A. Epstein and Sons, International, Inc., a major international architectural/engineering firm. For the past 20 years he served as CEO of that firm. For the last few decades his special focus was organizational strategy and development as well as the management and organization of complex mega-projects such as the expansion of McCormick Place in Chicago and the United Airlines Terminal at O'Hare.
Mr. Kupperman is a graduate of the University of Illinois where he earned a B.S. and M.S. in Structural Engineering. He is also a graduate of the University of Chicago where he earned an MBA. He lives in New York City with his wife.
Marty BurgerChief Executive Officer
Marty Burger is Chief Executive Officer of Silverstein Properties, Inc. He leads the company’s day to day activities, and focuses on its acquisition, development and financing efforts in the United States and abroad.
Prior to joining Silverstein, Mr. Burger was President and Chief Executive Officer of Artisan Real Estate Ventures, a company he founded in 2006.
Prior to Artisan, Mr. Burger spent 15 years at Related, including serving as President of Related Las Vegas and Executive Vice President of The Related Companies, L.P.
From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Burger was a Vice President at The Blackstone Group working on acquisitions for its first three real estate opportunity funds. From 1993 to 1994, he worked for Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Real Estate funds, also on the acquisition side. Prior to that, Mr. Burger spent five years at The Related Companies where he was a Vice President of Development and Acquisitions.
Mr. Burger received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Trustee and a Governor of the Urban Land Institute, a member of the Global Board, and formerly a member of the America’s Executive Committee, the Chairman of the New York District Council, and Chairman of his Urban Development Mixed-Use Council. Mr. Burger is on the Executive Committee of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an Advisory Board Member of the Center for Real Estate and Finance at Cornell University, the Advisory Board of the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, and the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. He is an active member of the Real Estate Roundtable in Washington, DC, and is on the Directors’ Advisory Council and the New York City Mortgage Committee of the M&T Bank.
Mr. Burger is involved with Habitat for Humanity in Westchester with his sons, helping to create quality housing for those in need. He is a board member of The Catalog for Giving, a charitable organization providing funds to multiple programs benefitting underprivileged inner city children. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Battery Conservancy, is on the Lincoln Center Real Estate and Construction Council, a board member of the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District, and is a board member of the Partnership for New York City. In addition, Mr. Burger helps oversee the activities of the Downtown Division of the UJA Federation.
Tal Kerret is the President of Silverstein Properties, Inc. He is responsible for managing and monitoring the company’s portfolio of assets and devising strategies for growth. Mr. Kerret oversees day-to-day operations at the company.
Mr. Kerret joined Silverstein Properties in 2011, as Executive Vice President, was promoted to Chief Investment Officer in 2013 and to President in 2015.
Prior to joining SPI, he was Chairman and Co-Founder of Oberon Media, Inc., the leading casual games platform and solution provider established in 2003.
Prior to co-founding Oberon Media, Mr. Kerret was CEO and co-founder of RichFX, an e-commerce technology infrastructure company, for seven years. Prior to RichFX Mr. Kerret served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces for six years.
Mr. Kerret holds degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Tel Aviv University.
Roger A. SilversteinExecutive Vice President
As Executive Vice President of Leasing, Roger A. Silverstein is responsible for leasing and managing all of the firm's commercial properties, including 7 World Trade Center, 1177 Avenue of the Americas, 120 Broadway, 120 Wall Street and 529 Fifth Avenue.
Mr. Silverstein is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, a director of the Realty Foundation of New York, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Executive Division of the UJA Federation. Mr. Silverstein serves and supports a variety of charitable organizations. He is a member of the Council of National Trustees of the National Jewish Medical Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, and an executive member of the Food Allergy Initiative of Mt. Sinai Hospital. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Achilles Track Club in New York, an organization established to encourage disabled people to participate in long-distance running.
Mr. Silverstein holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Economics from New York University. He is married and has three children. He is an accomplished triathlete and a lifelong New Yorker.
Lisa H. SilversteinExecutive Vice President
Lisa Silverstein is an Executive Vice President of Silverstein Properties, Inc. and oversees the firm's residential real estate portfolio. Ms. Silverstein actively participates in all aspects of residential real estate development from deal evaluation, analysis and pre-development planning to construction, marketing, operations, sales and leasing.
Recent projects include Silver Towers, two 60-story residential towers connected by a six-story base at 600 West 42nd Street, the companion to River Place I, a 40-story, 921-unit tower which opened in 2001. An "80-20" rental project, like its sister building, the 1,359-unit project is one of the city's largest rental buildings and includes a mix of market rate apartments, corporate housing and moderate and low income units. Silver Towers was completed in 2009.
Ms. Silverstein is also developing the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Downtown, a Tribeca property designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects. The project is located at 99 Church Street on a site that was formerly the headquarters of Moody's which sold its building to become Silverstein's biggest tenant at 7 World Trade Center, taking 17 stories, or 680,000 square feet of new office space.
A graduate of NYU, Ms. Silverstein sits on the boards of UJA and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. She is a member of the Board of Trustees at New York University. She lives with her husband and three children in Tribeca.
Michael MayPresident, Silverstein Capital Partners
Michael May is the President of Silverstein Capital Partners (“SCP”). Mr. May is focused on providing senior loans, bridge loans, subordinate loans, and rescue capital to borrowers on shovel-ready ground-up construction, heavy value-add repositioning, lease-up projects, land, and inventory loans on completed condominium projects. SCP is targeting office, industrial, residential and retail properties with a minimum $25 million investment. SCP is capitalized by two global institutional investors with established track records in the U.S. real estate market, and Silverstein Properties, Inc.
Previously, Mr. May was a founder and Chief Operating Officer of Cantor Commercial Real Estate (“CCRE”), where he led the origination of than $50+ billion of commercial real estate loans. Mr. May was responsible for raising institutional and private capital, sourcing corporate financing, high-yield bond raises, loan origination, loan distribution, and securitization for the venture. From its creation in 2010, CCRE closed 2,000+ financings on all property types in 50 US states, 3 US territories, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Mr. May oversaw conduit, transitional, large-loan, small-balance, single borrower, Agency, and net-lease lending as well as a $58 billion servicing book.
Prior to CCRE, Mr. May was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse (“CS”) where he was a senior member of the Real Estate Finance Group. Mr. May joined CS in 1997 and oversaw West Coast and Latin American operations including the origination and distribution of CMBS, whole loans, and subordinate debt. Mr. May originated $20+ billion in financings and innovated numerous CMBS products including securitization structures for condominiums, construction, ski mountains, and casinos.
Before CS, Mr. May worked at General Electric Capital Corporation where he focused on the acquisition of subordinated CMBS and the structured distribution of whole loans, asset backed securities, and real estate equity. Mr. May also spent seven years at Arthur Andersen LLP in the Real Estate Consulting Group, working in the US, Western Europe, Russia, and Latin America providing advice on project feasibility, loan valuations, securitization structuring, and workout strategies.
Mr. May holds a BS in Finance and a BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park.
William DacuntoExecutive Vice President
As Executive Vice President of Operations, Bill Dacunto is responsible for managing all the properties in the company's portfolio. Mr. Dacunto joined Silverstein Properties, Inc. in 1987.
Mr. Dacunto serves as a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) Management Board of Directors, and was a recipient of REBNY's Corporate Management Executive of the Year Award in 2005, the John M. Griffin Community Service Award in 2015 and, most recently, REBNY’s Brooker Management Executive Award in 2017.
He is a founding board member of Donate Eight (a project of, and associated with, LiveOnNY), an organization formed to raise awareness of the immediate need to increase organ donation registration, as well as a member of the LiveOnNY Foundation Board of Directors. Mr. Dacunto is also involved in many other charitable activities, including the establishment of blood drive (New York Blood Center) and food collection (City Harvest) programs throughout the Silverstein Properties’ portfolio. He was a recipient of the Special Award for All Around Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility from City & State Reports in 2015. Mr. Dacunto was named a 2016 Lifeline Honoree at the Covenant House New York, where he actively serves as a board member.
Mr. Dacunto holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the State University of New York at Brockport, and a Real Property Administrator designation from the Building Owners and Managers Association.
Michael L. LevyExecutive Vice President
Michael Levy joined Silverstein Properties, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer in 1997 and currently serves as Executive Vice President. He has vast experience in finance, acquisitions and sales and has closed in excess of $10 billion in transactions.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Levy was a senior tax partner at the accounting firm of Friedman Alpren & Green LLP, where he worked for over 20 years.
He is a member of both the American Institute and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the finance committee of a not-for-profit organization, and has served on various tax committees.
Brian CollinsEVP and Director of Development
Brian Collins is Executive Vice President and Director of Development where he oversees the development projects across the firm’s portfolio.
Previously, Mr. Collins was the Head of Acquisitions and Development at Fisher Brothers. Most recently, he oversaw over $1.5 billion in development of residential properties in New York City and Washington, DC, including 111 Murray, 225 East 39th Street, 101 West 87th Street, 37 Warren Street and 701 2nd Street NE on Capitol Hill.
Prior to joining Fisher Brothers, Brian was President of Intrawest, one of the largest resort owner/operators and real estate development companies in North America. As President, Brian oversaw all real estate activities worldwide. Before Intrawest, Brian was the founder of Colgate Development, a development company which specialized in the development of luxury hotels and condominiums. Under Brian’s leadership, Colgate developed several hotels and residential properties including The Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, NC and the Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia.
Brian started his career in real estate development as a principal and COO of Millennium Partners. Overseeing the commercial components of Millennium’s projects, Brian was responsible for the development of The Ritz-Carlton hotels in New York, Boston and Washington and the Four Seasons hotels in San Francisco and Miami as well as five Sport Club/LA facilities, office space, movies theatres and parking garages. Brian is an active member of the Urban Land Institute where he serves as vice chairman for ULI New York. He is also active in numerous New York real estate groups and councils.
Mr. Collins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Colgate University and a Masters in Accounting from NYU. He and his wife have two children and live in Fairfield CT.
Jonathan W. KnipeEVP and General Counsel
As Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Silverstein Properties, Inc., Jon Knipe is the company’s chief legal officer and corporate secretary. Mr. Knipe works with all of the company’s departments on a wide range of matters, including joint ventures, new development projects, financing, leasing, risk management, and operations. Mr. Knipe is on the firm’s investment committee and management committee, and one of his primary responsibilities is managing the legal and business aspects of the projects that SPI is rebuilding at the World Trade Center site.
Prior to joining SPI at the beginning of 2006, Mr. Knipe was General Counsel for Fisher Brothers, a New York City based real estate development, finance and construction company. Before Fisher Brothers, Mr. Knipe was a Vice-President at the Related Companies where he was a member of the development team that successfully completed the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle.
Mr. Knipe began his career at Battle Fowler LLP and he continued at Paul Hastings LLP after that firm acquired Battle Fowler. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and Delaware Law School.
Mr. Knipe is active in a number of non-profit and educational programs, including serving on the board of trustees of the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF) and as the co-chair of the Penn State Smeal College of Business Real Estate Advisory Board.
Jeremy MossExecutive Vice President
Jeremy Moss is Executive Vice President and Director of Leasing for Silverstein Properties. He oversees leasing at 2, 3 and 4 World Trade Center, as well as other commercial buildings in the Silverstein Properties portfolio. Since joining Silverstein in 2008, Jeremy has completed 350,000 square feet of office leases at 7 World Trade Center bringing the building to 100% occupancy.
Prior to joining Silverstein Properties, Jeremy was a Vice President for Commercial Development and Leasing at Forest City Ratner Companies in New York City where he managed the leasing of Forest City's 6 million square foot office portfolio. During his eight years at Forest City, Jeremy worked on 2 million square feet of commercial office leasing transactions and was involved in the development and leasing of 4 office buildings including the New York Times Building.
Prior to joining Forest City, Jeremy was with GRP Capital where he was responsible for the asset management and disposition of Resolution Trust properties and other commercial assets on behalf of the firm's institutional investors.
Jeremy is on the board of Brooklyn Boatworks, a not-for-profit that runs an educational boat building program for public schools. He is also active in a number of organizations including the Real Estate Board of NY, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Central Park Conservancy.
Jeremy received is BA in economics and political science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Leor SiriChief Financial Officer
Leor Siri, CPA is the Chief Financial Officer of Silverstein Properties, Inc (SPI). In this role, he oversees the accounting, tax, treasury and information technology department which supports the company’s various activities.
Prior to joining SPI, Mr. Siri was the CFO of a privately held real estate company whose focus was to own, develop and manage private label hotel brands, residential and mixed use properties. Mr. Siri was responsible for financial related functions which included: accounting and reporting, cash flow management, creating and tracking development and operating budgets and treasury function.
Between 2011 and 2013, Mr. Siri was the CFO and member of the investment committee of Seavest Inc. This company was a real estate management firm which was primarily dedicated to the management of healthcare properties which were owned thru affiliated funds. The company developed, financed and operated real estate across the United States with a portfolio of more than 2.0 million square feet. This role included project related functions such as evaluating investment opportunities, due diligence and negotiating debt transactions.
From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Siri was the Chief Accounting Officer and Director of El Ad Group, Ltd., a real estate company with assets totaling approximately $4.5 billion. Mr. Siri was primarily responsible for overseeing the accounting and tax. At El Ad, he built the accounting and reporting infrastructure through a significant growth period. This included the complex structure and development of the Plaza Hotel located in New York City. Prior to joining El-Ad, Mr. Siri worked for approximately 10 years with Ernst & Young, as a senior manager in the real estate group. His experience included a full range of professional accounting and consulting services for both private and public real estate companies in the tri-state area.
Mr. Siri is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Rob VecslerPresident, Residential
Rob Vecsler is President, Residential for Silverstein Properties. He is a member of the firm's Investment Committee.
Mr. Veclser oversees new and existing residential business initiatives. He develops business line strategy and leads sourcing, underwriting, and structuring of new residential business opportunities across US markets. Rob developed SPI’s strategy to invest in Opportunity Zones, and he initiated the joint venture with Cantor Fitzgerald to invest in Opportunity Zone developments nationwide. He leads this venture for Silverstein and will serve on the venture’s investment committee.
Mr. Veclser joined Silverstein in 2013 and has overseen the sourcing and acquisition of millions of square feet of mixed-use development which the firm currently has underway in Queens, Jersey City and on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He has led SPI's development and marketing of over $2 billion of mixed-use condominium developments including Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences and One West End. He directed marketing strategy and execution, including close collaboration with design professionals in planning, programming and branding. He is currently leading Silverstein’s partnership with a global lifestyle brand to establish its first ever residential development which the firms plan to roll out at a 500 unit mixed-use project on the far West Side of Manhattan and across US markets.
Prior to joining SPI, Mr. Veclser was a principal and CEO of Miami's Hyperion Group, where he acquired, financed and developed large scale mixed-use projects including the 516 unit MarinaBlue and 330 unit Blue condominiums in downtown Miami. Earlier in his career, Mr. Veclser held positions in New York as Vice President, Investment Banking at JP Morgan, and as an associate at Kelley Drye & Warren in New York. He holds a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.A. from Boston University.
Lisa BevacquaEVP, Asset Management
Lisa Bevacqua joined Silverstein Properties, Inc. in 2010 and is Executive Vice President and Director of Asset Management, where she oversees the firm's 12 million square foot portfolio of office and multi-family properties.
Prior to joining SPI, Ms. Bevacqua worked in acquisitions and asset management at Citi Property Investors (CPI), a $600 million real estate opportunity fund. She was responsible for underwriting and conducting due diligence on $1.8 billion of real estate transactions. In addition, Ms. Bevacqua oversaw a portfolio of office, condo and land assets, which included managing partner and third party relationships, establishing and executing business plans and maximizing asset value. Prior to CPI, she was a leasing broker at CB Richard Ellis/Whittier Partners, where she focused on the downtown Boston office market. Ms. Bevacqua began her career as a consultant at Accenture, where she worked on process and operational improvements within the financial services industry.
Ms. Bevacqua earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude with a BA from Boston College.
Debra HudnellSVP, Human Resources
Debra Hudnell is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Silverstein Properties, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing talent, performance management, recruitment, culture design and management, professional development, employee engagement, legal compliance, as well as compensation and health/benefits initiatives.
Mrs. Hudnell joined Silverstein Properties in 1981. Since that time, she has played an integral part in the exponential growth of the company. She develops, implements, and oversees Human Resources practices that ensure a balanced program throughout all the company's departments and properties, while maintaining its core values (integrity, respect, and collegiality). Debra’s efforts continue to make Silverstein Properties a career destination for qualified applicants and a sound investment for employees. Under Mrs. Hudnell’s leadership, Silverstein Properties has been named one of the "Best Places to Work in New York City" by Crain's New York Business for the eight years in a row.
Mrs. Hudnell is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE). A native of Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Hudnell and her husband have been married for 31 years and have two adult children. She has been named among the 25 Influential Black Women in Business in 2016 by The Network Journal, a New York-based monthly African-American business magazine aimed at professionals and business owners.
Dara McQuillanChief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for World Trade Center Properties, LLC and Silverstein Properties, Inc., Dara manages the public relations, media, advertising, documentary, branding and communications aspects of the Silverstein organization’s efforts to rebuild at the World Trade Center site.
Dara is a member of the company’s management committee and works with the senior management team and top executives on a wide range of corporate matters, with direct responsibility for the company’s marketing and communications initiatives.
Highlights of Dara's work include the building, opening and marketing of 4 WTC and 7 WTC - for which his group was awarded a Silver Anvil from the Public Relations Society of America; unveiling designs for the iconic Freedom Tower and the towers designed by Pritzker prize-winning architects Norman Foster, Richard Rogers and Fumihiko Maki; Silverstein's successful “two occurrence” insurance litigation; launching several WTC websites and dozens of social media channels; developing a long-term World Trade Center branding, marketing and merchandising strategy; and developing a program to document the rebuilding project through feature films, TV documentaries, books, photographs, art and interactive media.
Previously, Dara was the Communications & Media Manager of Shearman & Sterling LLP, a corporate law firm of 850 lawyers in 20 cities around the world. Based in New York, he was responsible for devising and managing strategies to maintain and build the firm's reputation, image and visibility. In June 2003, Dara's group was awarded a Silver Anvil from the PRSA for its work on behalf of a Sept. 11 pro bono client of the firm.
Dara began his career as a journalist at Variety and Daily Variety in Los Angeles. He has also worked at Academy Award-winning Merchant Ivory Productions, Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Film Center in New York and at Universal Pictures.
Earlier in his career, Dara worked in the Department of Public Information of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, and in New York, where he wrote an analytical and historical study of the United Nations library that became an official publication of the UN.
Born in Ireland and raised in Brussels, Belgium, Dara studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland where he graduated with a Master's degree in Philosophy. He spent a year as an Erasmus Scholar at the University of Bologna, Italy, where he studied Italian and philosophy under Umberto Eco. Upon graduation, Dara won a Bobby Jones Jr. Graduate Fellowship to UCLA.
Lior MorVice President
Lior Mor oversees Silverstein’s operations in Israel which includes analysis of various opportunities both in Israel and the US, developing relationships with Israeli financial institutions and managing ongoing relationships with Israeli institutional investors. Prior to joining SPI, Lior led the real estate division at Menora Mivtachim Group for over six years and closed deals in excess of $1.5 billion in transactions. Lior was the asset manager for a real estate portfolio of over 40 assets in Israel, Europe and the USA. Prior to Menora, Lior was a senior analyst at Giza Singer Even, Israel's largest financial advisory and investment banking firm. He specialized in real estate transactions in Israel and abroad. Lior serves as a board member on various traded companies on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE).
Shari NatovitzSVP, Director of Risk Management
As the Director of Risk Management for Silverstein Properties and World Trade Center Properties, Shari Natovitz is responsible for providing leadership, direction and creating solutions for the risk management challenges of the WTC development project and the Silverstein portfolio of buildings, acquisitions, operations and new construction projects.
She manages the Construction Safety Programs, Claims and Litigation, and brings economic efficiency to an insurance budget in excess of $100 Million. Having worked for an insurance company, a regional broker, national brokers, and also operated her own consulting company, she possesses a 360 degree view of the industry. Her prior experience support a partnership approach with her brokers and carriers as she brings technical, practical knowledge in risk finance, construction and coverage challenges.
Ms. Natovitz is active in RIMS, including an active Risk Manager in Residence as part of the Spencer Foundation. She participates on a number of carrier councils as well as the Willis Global Client Council and serves on the Advisen Property Conference Advisory Board.
Ms. Natovitz’s honors include 2016 Business Insurance Risk Management Honor Roll; 2015 Insurance Professional of the Year by the NYC Association of Insurance Women; 2011 IRMI Horizon Award Finalist (Integrated Safety and Claims Program); 2009 Business Insurance Women to Watch and 2008 IRMI Horizon Award Finalist (Marketing Strategies and Market Results).
She has been Risk Manager in Residence at LaSalle University (2016), Troy University (2016), Missouri State (2015) and Ball State (2014).
Ms. Natovitz has developed and led a variety of seminars on such topics as Wrap-up programs, TRIA, Effective Risk Management, Construction Risks for Owners, Labor Law Challenges, Emergency Response and Business Continuity and she has also been a panelist and speaker for the Institutional Investor Conference, the Advisen Property and Casualty Conferences and various carriers from AIG to Zurich.
She brings over 40 years of experience with project insurance, funding alternatives and strategic risk management tools to her current position.
Yael UrmanChief Information Officer
Yael Urman joined Silverstein Properties in 2018 as Chief Information Officer, a role in which she oversees the technology initiatives that support the company's financial, operations and development activities.
Ms. Urman has held various leadership roles in Energy, IT services, Biotech and Pharma. In her most recent role, she served as the Director of Applications at PBF Energy, a Fortune 135 independent petroleum-refiner company with five refineries in the US. She led system strategy, built an IT organization from the ground up, and drove technology innovation to support a rapidly growing company.
Prior to PBF, Ms. Urman was the Head of Information Technology at Ness Technology North America, a global Information Technology Services company, where she managed the entire IT spectrum. Prior to Ness, she was the Director of IT for Teva Pharmaceuticals Global Operations (the world’s largest manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals). She led the design and implementation of the company’s IT strategy for 36 manufacturing sites worldwide.
In her early career Ms. Urman held several positions with Serono (now Merck-Serono), a leading Swiss-based biotech company. Among them, she led the global implementation of Oracle Supply Chain and managed the production planning and industrial engineering teams.
Ms. Urman holds an MBA from Tel-Aviv University and a BSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology).
Guy VardiChief Innovation Officer
Guy Vardi is Chief Innovation Officer for Silverstein Properties. He joined the company in 2016 to oversee the firm’s process of innovation and change management.
Before joining SPI, he co-founded Matific, a startup that empowers teachers and encourages students to discover and explore mathematical concepts through playful interaction. Matific is used by millions of students and translated into 11 languages. Matific was named the winner of the 2016 SIIA CODiE Award for Best Mathematics Instructional Solution.
In 2003, Guy helped found Oberon Media, a company that expands and diversifies the demographics of computer gamers. He oversaw the development of the most popular platform for distribution of casual games at the time. Oberon's Game Center network reached over 40 million users.
Guy started his career as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces. Later he spent several years developing innovative digital experiences and interaction models for the Israeli Defense Forces. Highlights of his work include creating the first commercial VR environment for e-commerce, pioneering production of interactive video using wearables cameras, co-producing software that explores the relationships between classical poetry and interactive media, implementing the TCP / IP protocol over can and wire telephone and conducting an experiment that demonstrated carriers pigeons are faster than ADSL.
Guy holds a degree in computer science from the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzelia. He lives in the Upper West Side with his wife and children.
