The Capital Grille Opens in the Financial District

NEW YORK, NY - The Capital Grille in Manhattan's Financial District (120 Broadway, at Nassau and Pine Streets) opened to the public on September 28, 2009.  The restaurant, which joins The Capital Grille Chrysler Center and Time-Life Building, is New York City's newest location.  Following its two predecessors, The Capital Grille Wall Street is architecturally unique, located on three levels in an historic bank building, complete with an enormous, original vault on the ground level incorporated into the design scheme.

The Capital Grille, which is nationally known for its dry aged, hand-carved beef selections, fresh seafood and extensive, award-winning wine list, is routinely recognized by Wine Spectator magazine.  The restaurant, which recently received the American Culinary Federation's "Achievement of Excellence Award," prides itself on professional, attentive service in an atmosphere of relaxed elegance.

"We are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to bring The Capital Grille to Wall Street area diners," said Managing Partner JP Connolly.  "Our location in the Financial District affords us a terrific opportunity to be at the heart of commerce and tourism in New York City."

Menu highlights include:

  • Signature Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers
  • Lobster and Crab Cakes
  • Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Shallot Butter
  • Porcini-Rubbed Delmonico with 12-Year, Aged Balsamic

The Capital Grille wine list features over 450 selections.  Prices range from bottles at $29 to four-figure gems on the coveted Captain's List, which includes rare wines from prized, older vintages and small, limited production vineyards from around the world.  For those with especially discerning taste in wine, The Capital Grille offers a private wine locker membership.  Wine lovers have the option to lease a wine locker, personalized with an inscribed brass nameplate.  The Capital Grille's expert Wine Director is pleased to acquire desired bottles for guests, ensuring that they will always have their favorite vintages available.

The walls of the elegant, mahogany-paneled restaurant are adorned with local history.  The Capital Grille commissioned portraits of 16 prominent Manhattan residents to hang in its newest restaurant, including Solomon R. Guggenheim, Peter Stuyvesant, Charles Dow, John Jacob Astor, Brooke Astor, Robert Moses, William Alfred "Bill" Shea, Clarence W. Barron, Rev. Charles B. Ray, George Brown Post, Albert Gallatin, Edith Spivack, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Sidney James Weinberg, Stanford White and John Jay.

The Capital Grille Wall Street seats 413 guests and features seven private dining rooms, accommodating between 12 and 28 people.  Each room is equipped with audio-visual equipment, including hi-definition flat screen televisions.  Executive Chef Jason Miller is delighted to create a customized menu for special events.
